Pressure testing

Pressure testing

Extra assurance for stable operation.

What is pressure testing and why is it important?

Pressure testing is a controlled strength and tightness test in which the hose is subjected to a brief static overpressure to confirm its full integrity before use. In the process industry, where high temperatures, chemicals, or sensitive media are often involved, it’s critical to know the hose's resistance to working pressure.

The purpose of the test is to identify potential weaknesses in the hose itself or in the assembly of the couplings before it’s installed in your process plant. By removing the uncertainty, you minimize the risk of dangerous bursts and leaks, which in the worst case can lead to personal injury, expensive production stoppages, or the recall of entire product batches. A pressure test therefore acts as a safety guarantee that the hose can withstand the planned load.

How we pressure test your hose

To ensure maximum precision, we always perform our pressure testing in-house using our own pressure testing system. We use a hydrostatic test method, where the hose is filled with liquid and pressurized in a closed and secure test environment.

At our company, quality assurance is never based on gut feelings, but on fixed procedures. This means, among other things, that we have a fixed procedure to always test with a safety margin of +50%. For example, if your normal working pressure is specified as 10 bar, we pressure test it at 15 bar (1.5 times the working pressure). Our systematic approach ensures that the specifications always match reality, so you can safely use the hose in your production.

What is ISO 1307 and DIN 7715?

What is ISO 1307 and DIN 7715?

When we pressure test and validate the hose, we rely on the international standards ISO 1307 and DIN 7715 to ensure a consistent and professional high-quality test:

  • ISO 1307: Defines the precise tolerances for hose diameters and lengths, as well as the general requirements for how test pressure should be calculated and performed.
  • DIN 7715: Specifies the tolerances for rubber products. It ensures that the performance and dimensions of the materials are consistent, which is crucial for the connection between the hose and coupling to remain tight under pressure.

The use of these standards serves as your technical foundation. It guarantees that your hose solution meets the expected specifications and hygiene requirements, regardless of where in the world your process plant is operating.

Why you should choose the pressure test certificate

Why you should choose the pressure test certificate

We can always provide a documentation package for the hoses you order from us. And by selecting a pressure test certificate, you get concrete proof that the hose has been tested and approved for your specific operating conditions.

The pressure test certificate always contains:

  • Customer details: Company name, address, customer number, and order number
  • Hose specifications: Hose type, coupling types, dimensions/sizes, serial number, and batch number
  • Test standards: ISO 1307 and DIN 7715
  • Test data: Pressure type used (static), test pressure in bar, and inspection date

With the pressure test certificate in hand, you have the proof ready for inspection visits from the various relevant authorities. This gives you peace of mind and reduces unnecessary time spent on internal checks or deviations in your production.
