Jabsco spare parts for industrial pumping solutions

Jabsco impellers are designed for use in impeller pumps, a type of centrifugal pump that uses a rotating impeller to move liquids in a process flow system.

Impeller pumps are widely used in a variety of industrial processes, from water treatment and chemical processing to food and beverage production.

The design of Jabsco impellers provides high efficiency and durability, making them a reliable choice for the process industry.

Installation of Jabsco impellers

Ensuring correct installation of the impeller is important for the optimal performance.

  • The first step is to open the pump by removing the cover to the pump housing. It is important to inspect the O-ring, sealing the cover of the pump, to prevent leakages.

  • The second step is to remove the old impeller and clean the pump housing for any debris that could interfere with the operation of the new impeller.
  • The next step is to align the impeller with the pump shaft and secure it in place. Once installed, the pump should be filled with liquid and started up to verify that the impeller is functioning properly.

Selecting the right shaft type

Jabsco impellers come with 6 different shaft types: Pindrive, Key drive, Single flat drive, Double flat drive, Ding drive (keyway) and Spline drive.

Depending on the pump model, you must select the impeller with the right shaft type. It is important to select the right shaft type to ensure that the impeller can be installed correctly.

Number of blades and FDA-approved rubber material

The number of blades on a Jabsco impeller can vary depending on the specific process it will be used in. Factors such as liquid type and flow rate, hose or pipe diameter may influence the optimal number of blades.

The rubber material of the impeller also plays a role in performance and durability. Different rubber materials are available, each with its own set of properties, such as chemical resistance, heat resistance, and abrasion resistance.

Some of the most common rubber materials include Nitrile (NBR), EPDM, Viton and Neoprene. Ensure that you choose FDA approved rubber if the impeller is in touch with food or other substances consumed by humans.
