GEKA couplings for flexible hose systems in the process industry

GEKA couplings provide you with a fast and reliable method for handling hose connections in everyday use. You get a robust hose coupling that is ideal for food and beverage production, for example, where you need a solution that simply works. Whether for cleaning or technical installations, the coupling ensures an efficient workflow without unnecessary time waste.

You can benefit from using GEKA couplings when your employees frequently move hoses between different taps, pumps and equipment. The characteristic claw shape makes it easy to connect and disconnect manually. As the design is standardised with a fixed claw spacing, you can combine couplings across your entire plant.

How does a GEKA coupling work?

A GEKA coupling consists of a body with two opposing claws and an internal gasket. When you connect two hoses or a hose and a valve, you press the couplings together so that the claws engage and turn until they stop. The gasket is easily tightened and ensures a tight connection as long as it is intact and undamaged.

You can use the couplings for:

  • Hose connections to fixed tap points and distributors directly in your production lines.
  • Critical cleaning tasks around tanks, floor areas and sensitive process equipment.
  • Mobile hose lines and temporary solutions in your workshops during maintenance.
  • Water supply in large outdoor areas or agricultural installations.

Materials, media and tightness

In environments with strict corrosion resistance requirements, the choice of materials is crucial to the service life of the components. GEKA couplings in AISI 316 stainless steel for process plants are specially designed to withstand even the chemical influences you may encounter in your production.

Our range includes a complete set of components in the series:

  • GEKA claw coupling (AISI 316): This robust coupling with internal thread is fitted with a high-performance FKM/viton gasket. It has been specifically developed for demanding applications and is available in sizes from 1/2‘ to 1 1/2’. This makes it easy to integrate into your existing pipe and hose setups.
  • GEKA end cap (AISI 316): The end cap is used to securely cap open connections. It protects against leaks and contamination of the pipe network when a hose is not connected.
  • GEKA profile gasket (FKM/FPM): The green profile gasket is the critical component that ensures the tightness of the system. It is easy to replace, allowing you to maintain and extend the life of your existing couplings without replacing the entire armature.

We also offer a GEKA stainless steel safety chain. By installing the chain between the coupling and the end cover, you ensure that the cover is always within easy reach for your operators. This optimises the workflow and prevents the loss of loose parts.

When are GEKA couplings the right choice?

GEKA couplings are ideal when you need a solution that makes it quick and tool-free to connect and disconnect hoses, and which is also robust enough to withstand both frequent use and rough handling. You also get a flexible system where you can combine different hoses and connections in any combination, and a standard solution where it is easy to obtain couplings, end covers, gaskets and chains as spare parts when the system needs to be expanded or maintained.

Technical features common to the series:

  • Universal fit: The bell coupling and end cover are both designed with a standardised jaw distance of 40 mm, making them fully compatible across dimensions.
  • High resistance: Made of stainless steel (AISI 316) and with FKM seals that can withstand up to 10 bar and aggressive environments.
  • Wide range of applications: Ideal for water and process pipes in industry, construction, agriculture and civil installations.

Frequently asked questions

man wondering

What is a GEKA coupling and what is it used for?

A GEKA claw coupling is a bell coupling with two claws that is used for quick and tight connection of industrial hoses. It is suitable for process water, cleaning tasks and supply in industry, construction, agriculture and technical installations.

Which GEKA components can I choose?

We sell a GEKA claw coupling in AISI 316 stainless steel with internal thread and FKM/viton gasket, which covers most industrial needs. We also supply accessories that make it easy to build a complete and reliable GEKA installation: a universal GEKA end cap, a GEKA profile gasket in FKM/FPM and a GEKA chain in stainless steel.

Can GEKA couplings be used for water installations?

Yes, GEKA couplings are designed for water pipes and are widely used in industry, construction, agriculture and civil installations where tightness and corrosion resistance are required.

How do we best maintain our GEKA couplings?

To ensure stable operation, you should regularly check GEKA couplings for worn gaskets, deformed claws and dirt on the sealing surfaces, and replace profile gaskets and any damaged components in good time to avoid leaks and downtime in your system.
