Find the right mechanical seal for your Hilge pump
In food and pharmaceutical production, reliable mechanical seals are key to maintaining a clean and safe process. For Hilge pumps, they ensure that liquids and media do not leak around the shaft, so that the pump maintains stable pressure and a clean flow. This not only prevents product waste, but also protects the pump itself from wear and contamination. In food and pharmaceutical processes, where precision and hygiene are essential, a well-functioning mechanical seal is therefore a prerequisite for reliable and efficient production.
We specialise in components that support precisely this operational reliability. Our mechanical seals for Hilge pumps are designed to meet high requirements for temperature tolerance, chemical resistance and mechanical strength. They are made of wear-resistant materials such as silicon carbide (Sic), carbon, EPDM and viton and are suitable for both CIP and SIP processes. The user-friendly construction makes replacement simple and reduces the risk of prolonged production downtime.

Our available variants
We offer two variants, both of which are suitable for Hilge pumps, but each covering different needs:
- Novalobe shaft seal:
This seal is manufactured with a slide ring and seat in hard silicon (Sic) and gaskets in either EPDM or viton, and the combination provides high wear resistance and chemical resistance. The Novalobe mechanical seal is suitable for media with high temperatures, pressures or aggressive cleaning agents and does not require directional installation. This makes it easy to replace, even if you are working in demanding operating conditions. - HG mechanical seal:
With the HG variant, you have a mechanical seal with a stainless housing and protected springs. The construction provides stability and a long service life even with frequent cleaning routines. The O-ring around the axle provides a secondary seal, and you can install the seal without having to consider the direction of rotation. The sealing surfaces are available in carbon or silicon (SiC) and are combined with a silicon seat. The gaskets are available in EPDM or Viton, so you can choose the solution that best suits your process environment.
Both models are supplied with documentation that complies with current requirements in the food and pharmaceutical industries. You can configure them for CIP and SIP cleaning environments to achieve high operational reliability and a seal that lasts through many production cycles.
Selection, advice and support all in one place
When selecting the right mechanical seal for your Hilge pump, it is important to consider the entire operating environment. The composition, temperature and pressure of the medium help determine which materials are best suited. Our technical specialists advise customers on a daily basis on material selection, seal type and compatibility, so you can avoid incorrect orders and downtime.
We also help with product identification if you have a seal without clear labelling. By analysing measurements, images and pump data, we can help you find the right variant. Our versatile warehouse ensures short delivery times, and we offer both one-off purchases and framework agreements for regular customers.
Our specialists are always transparent to help you find the optimal mechanical seal for your Hilge pump. Contact us today on +45 7020 0422 or inquiry@alfotech.eu for guidance on choosing material combinations and spare parts.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a seal last?
It is difficult to give a precise estimate of the service life of a mechanical seal. The service life depends on the medium, temperature/pressure, cleaning routines (CIP/SIP) and whether the right combination of materials has been chosen.
Do you have documentation for materials and approvals?
Yes, we can provide documentation and certificates for materials that meet the requirements of both the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry.
How do I install the mechanical seal correctly?
Follow the installation instructions for the pump and mechanical seal, and also pay attention to the correct O-ring/seat combination and shaft diameter.
Can you help identify an existing mechanical seal?
Yes, we are happy to help identify your mechanical seals based on pictures/dimensions/shaft diameter or pump variant. You can see the variants on the product pages or contact our technical team for quick clarification.
