Tuchenhagen TNHG is a mechanical seal typically used in the food industry, where there are high demands on operational reliability, ease of cleaning and material quality. 

The seal is non-directional, which makes installation easier, and it is suitable for CIP and SIP cleaning procedures. The enclosed spring and O-rings around the axle ensure that the seal provides effective protection – even in demanding, hygiene-sensitive environments with repeated cleaning. 

TNHG is used exclusively in combination with selected pumps from the Tuchenhagen series. This applies in particular to production environments where dairy products, juices and similar liquids with high hygiene requirements are handled. Our TNHG mechanical seal is compatible with a versatile range of pump types such as TP 1020, TP 2050, TP 5060 or TPS 2030 and TPS 8080.

The quality of the seal depends largely on the right choice of materials. The rotating part is available in either carbon or silicon carbide (Sic), while the stationary part is supplied in Sic, which is known for its wear resistance and chemical resistance. This combination ensures a stable and maintenance-friendly seal for process equipment that is exposed to pressure, temperature and cleaning.  

In addition, you can choose between EPDM and viton O-rings depending on your operating conditions. EPDM is often used in food applications and works well in humid and alkaline environments. We recommend viton if your process involves higher temperatures or aggressive cleaning agents. The entire spring assembly is protected in a stainless steel housing, contributing to longer life and less wear during operation.
