Pneumatic hoses for demanding compressed air installations

With more than 35 years of experience in the process industry, we help customers every day to find reliable solutions for transporting compressed air. And here, pneumatic hoses – also known as compressed air hoses – are a good candidate for the job. The hoses can be found in everything from automated production plants and packaging lines to filling equipment and bottling lines.

Application in the process industry

In most technical installations, compressed air is a natural part of the overall system, and here pneumatic hoses play an important role in internal distribution. They connect compressor systems, distribution pipes and pneumatic components and ensure that control and supply air reaches its destination at the correct pressure – in both stationary and more dynamic applications.

Our customers use them for, among other things:

  • Compressed air for valves and actuators in process and automation lines.
  • Control air for valve terminals and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Supply of pneumatic cylinders in machines and equipment.

Advantages of polyamide pneumatic hoses

Polyamide is now the standard in many industrial pneumatic systems, as it combines the best properties of softer materials with superior durability. By choosing PA 12, you get a solution that is designed to perform in demanding environments. The material is known for having:

  • Dimensional stability under pressure: As a flexible material, PA 12 retains its shape. This ensures a constant flow and makes it ideal for precision work.
  • High resistance: The material is resistant to mechanical wear and the effects of the surrounding production environment.

This balance between flexibility and strength makes it possible to create installations that are both reliable and easy to assemble.

Our range includes two types of polyamide compressed air hoses:

  • Our PA 12 is suitable for compressed air installations that require both flexibility and reliability. It has good mechanical properties, which provide high tensile strength, resistance to pressure and wear. It is versatile with a temperature range of −40°C to +80°C and is resistant to oil, grease, fuel and salt solutions, among other things.
  • The same model is available in a version that can withstand high temperatures. This hose has an extended temperature range up to approx. 130°C, providing stable and safe operation where a standard compressed air hose is not sufficient.

We can also supply the hoses in different colours such as red, blue, green, black and natural. This allows you to customise and find a different colour than your other hoses in your production if you already use a colour coding system.

Choice of coupling type

pharma production with a compressed air installation

The choice of connection for your compressed air hoses is important for maintaining the integrity of your system. Although polyamide has high mechanical strength, it still places specific demands on your configuration.

A typical connection can be found in our popular push-in fittings (quick couplings). They are ideal for PA12 hoses because the solid structure of the material ensures a stable and tight connection that does not deform over time. Although the hose is robust, it retains good flexibility, which makes it possible to install fittings quickly and without the use of tools.

In environments with strong vibrations or demanding media, we recommend push-on fittings. This solution provides exceptional mechanical safety, ensuring that the connection remains completely stable and tight, even under the most difficult operating conditions in the process industry.

Frequently asked questions

woman wondering

How do I maintain my pneumatic hoses?

To ensure a long service life for your pneumatic hoses, we recommend regular inspection to identify any wear and tear, cleaning and proper storage so that the hose is not exposed to extreme temperatures or sunlight.

What does it mean that the hoses are RoHS approved?

The main purpose of the RoHS standard is to protect both the environment and human health by restricting the use of hazardous substances in products. The substances regulated under the RoHS directive include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).

How does a compressed air installation work?

A compressed air installation usually consists of a compressor that compresses the ambient air and creates air with high pressure. The compressed air is stored in tanks or reservoirs and distributed via pipes to where it is needed. At the point of use, the compressed air drives various tools, machines and process equipment by converting air pressure into mechanical movement or energy.

Can I use a pneumatic hose for anything other than compressed air?

In certain cases, pneumatic hoses can also be used for other neutral gases or light liquids, but this always requires a specific assessment of the medium, temperature and pressure. Contact us for advice if the hose is to be used for anything other than standard compressed air.
